Injury Prevention Services is addressing critical public health issues through a combination of efforts in these three
categories …

  1. Understanding the nature of injuries occurring in Allegany County
  2. Creating and Coordinating PREVENTION PROGRAMS
  3. Developing training and education programs for professionals, clinical practitioners, community leaders and agencies

Each year a targeted injury prevention project based on identified local needs is funded.

Past activities include: firearm storage, playground safety,
all-terrain vehicle safety; booster seat use; and, preventing falls by older persons.
