It has been said that, if you have your health, you have everything. That is why the Allegany County Health Department and the Western Maryland Health System are pleased to announce the formation of the Allegany County Health Planning Coalition. Through joint efforts with key community partners such as the Western Maryland Area Health Education Center, Tri-State Community Health Center, the Allegany County Board of Education, and County United Way, we are working to identify and address opportunities to improve the health of Allegany County residents. Over the next several months, the ACHPC will seek input from the community as we focus on the most critical health concerns in our area and implement public health strategies which will enrich the lives of all Allegany Countians. We encourage you to visit the Coalition web site for more information.
First Lady Katie O’Malley and the State of Maryland are launching a program to promote fun and healthy eating for families. When you sign up, you will receive monthly special recipes created by an award-winning chef using Maryland ingredients. You will also have a chance to win great prizes. You can join the fun by texting CHOPMD to code 43186. Click on the logo above for more information!
