Brandon has been an employee since June 7, 2006. He first started in Environmental Health as an Environmental Health Aide (incidentally was also Employee of the Month for EH in 2008). On September 9, 2009, the IT Department gained a most valuable player. Brandon not only works in IT but in Mental Health System’s Office and Public Health Preparedness one day a week each. He is very pleasant and has a can-do attitude even under the extreme workload and the juggling he has to do. He has an outstanding knowledge of computer and technical information. There seems to be no end to all he knows and is an expert on. He can recognize potential problems with IT systems and takes a proactive approach to avoid delays or interruptions of programs as well as client services.
He was recently involved in the Active Directory migration, Google email transition, bringing department servers up to date, installing wireless access points for internet, automating the car and meeting room scheduler and many other improvements. Brandon has helped bring the Health Department up to date on the modern methods and trends in the field of Information Technology. He goes above and beyond other duties as assigned by helping anywhere there is a need. He seems to love anything IT and would work at it 24/7 if allowed. With all he is responsible for and everywhere he goes, he does so with a smile. These are some of the many reasons why Brandon Vance is the September Employee of the Month.
